Computational biology research intern Katherine Redfield Chan works on the application of data mining and machine learning techniques to problems in genetics and personalized medicine.

She earned her B.S. in Mathematics with Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is currently a pre-med student at Columbia University. Katherine graduated Phi Beta Kappa from MIT in 2009 and worked at a boutique hedge fund in Manhattan for several years before shifting focus to medicine in 2013.
