| Mondrian, the Genome Data Mapper Software: Loading, Unloading, & Saving Genomic Data |
Introduction
The Mondrian Software can load genomic profile data in two different ways. The first way is to load data from a file on your computer that conforms to the file format described here. The second way is to load data from the Cancer Genomics Data Server. In addition data files can be unloaded and/or saved to your hard disk. To perform any of these operations, you will access the Data Management Panel:

Load Data from a File
As previously mentioned, the Mondrian Software can load genomic profile data from a file on your computer that conforms to the file format described here. To do this, first select the "Load" tab from within the "Data Management Panel". Next, click on the "Browse" button within the "Load Data File from File System" panel, navigate to the genomic profile data file to load and click on the "Open" button.

Load Data from Web Service
The Mondrian Software can load genomic profile data from the Cancer Genomics Data Server, a web service setup to serve analyzed genomics data generated by the Computational Biology Lab (cBio) at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. To do this, first select the "Load" tab from within the "Data Management Panel". Next, click on the "Load" button within the "Load Data from Web Service" panel. This will open the "Load Data from Web Service" dialog. Inside the dialog, select a Cancer Type, then select a genetic profile, then click the "Load Genetic Profile" button. Note, when the web service is accessed from the software, only data for the opened network is provided, not the entire data set. In addition, profiles can be downloaded consecutively without having to reenter the dialog.
